Apartment hunting vent - so burnt out from this process

Just need to vent real quick. I've been searching for weeks and every great place is gone before I can even think about booking a viewing. The ridiculous competition makes it feel impossible. I'm exhausted and starting to lose hope in finding a decent place in this market.
